I’ve been wowed by DanRam’s LinkedIn profile for a while, so I was delighted when he agreed to be a guest on the podcast last summer.
It’s not enough to call Dan a third-culture person because he’s had a truly international life: He was born in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Raised in Yemen, France, Algeria, India, Zimbabwe, Morocco got his education at Yale and has professional experiences with the UN and World Vision!
Now Dan travels the globe as an Event MC & Speaker at over 100 events a year. Hosting changemakers like President Barack Obama, billionaire founders Sir Richard Branson and Reid Hoffman, F1 champion Nico Rosberg, Grammy-winning artists and celebrities, he works on 4 continents from college campuses to parliaments to in-house corporate innovation days for Fortune 500 companies to the biggest tech conferences in the world. His passion is to inspire people with his motto ‘Start Now Start Simple’ in building a future we all want to live in.
Dan’s journey to Germany began during the pandemic while he was staying at his parents’ home in India. Feeling lost and disconnected from his usual work as a global MC and speaker, he received an unexpected invitation to a high-profile event in Munich.

- Falling in Love with Aachen: After the Munich event, Dan was invited to Aachen, where he connected with students and faculty at a local university. A professor recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue a PhD, despite his non-academic background.
