English Copywriter in Germany: Emily Browne

Meet Emily. Someone you should get to know if you’re looking for a copywriter for your website.

Tell us a little about you. How did you get your start as a copywriter in Germany? How long have you been in business? Describe your copywriting style.

I started my career seven years ago after I moved to Berlin from London following the completion of my master’s degree in radio & journalism.

Since then I have dabbled many different areas within copywriting and content marketing, across many different industries.

After several years working full time in copy and content, I have gone fully freelance.

I like to think I can offer more than copy — I offer collaboration, creative input and a unique perspective.

We will work together to come up with impactful copy that’s well-written, engaging and driven by SEO principles.

What is your approach to writing copy for a website?

For me, copywriting is a highly collaborative process. My job is to put your ideas into words, your passion on to paper.

I love taking complex ideas and making them easy to digest.

We will start by simply talking about your product or service; what you want anyone who lands on your website to know, and how we can get that across.

From there we will discuss audience, tone of voice and brand. I will then go away and come up with a few ideas we can work on together, and then we can craft a website packed with powerful, punchy copy that gets you where you want to go.

What type of clients do you like to work with? Any specific industries or sectors (creatives, health professions, coaches, etc.) you prefer or excel in?

I love working with industries that are making a difference, e.g. healthcare, sustainability, DEI, green tech, etc. I love working with other creatives and people who are passionate about what they do.

I am particularly proud of my work with Shopify, where I produced two very high ranking SEO pieces about TikTok.

Do you work with native English speakers or German speakers as well? Do you have a preference?

I only work in English (UK).

What are 1-3 tips you’d give someone preparing to work with a copywriter for their website?
